From L to R Alan Crowetz, of InfoStream Inc, Brigadier General Robert Spalding, Robert Rannebaum of Simmons and White Inc

Alan had the opportunity to hear a presentation by Brigadier General Robert Spalding on the subject of 5G and the threats China presents. He also got to meet him in person.

Robert Spalding retired from the U.S. Air Force as a brigadier general after morethan 25 years of service. He is recognized for his knowledge of Chinese economic competition, global trends and cyber warfare. He was a lead China strategist for the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Joint Staff at the Pentagon. He also served as a senior defense official and defense attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing.

He is a Security expert with a focus on 5G. As Senior Director for Strategic Planning with the National Security Council, he advocated for a nationalized 5G plan to defend the technological infrastructure from Chinese interference.

“Quite frankly, the talk was terrifying”. China is eating our lunch.

We are highly vulnerable in numerous ways and we seem to be falling further behind in the field of Cybersecurity.

Businesses in particular, should be concerned, VERY concerned. Crippling businesses and the economy is one, if not the top, goal.

Our telecommunications systems implementation of 5G is not true 5G and is not up to the standards of other countries.

Brigadier General Spalding is on a mission to wake up the business world. It was an enormously inciteful talk even if it was scary.

But if you own or manage a business, you need to be taking cybersecurity seriously! Any improvements at all are a huge improvement over doing nothing. Small businesses, employers and employees are clearly targets.

A special thank you to Rob Rennebaum and Simmons and White, Inc. for the invitation and special opportunity! Amazing company, amazing person.
